Polka Dot Fun

Since summer is just around the corner, I figured it was a time for a change. When I think of change I go straight for my hair... Goodbye long hair, it is time to replenish and get my hair back to healthy!

Today's post is a casual outfit for a dinner date with my mom and boyfriend. My mom is the typical Asian mom, you will never leave her house empty handed or hungry. She told me she was craving gold fishes the other day and decided to buy the bulk size at Costco... so now Cole and I had to take some home to pack for snacks during our work week... I wonder where I get my spending habits from? But I love that lady to death.

My perfect imperfections

If a man every said I "love your curves and all your edges, all your perfect imperfections," you should probably marry that man. If you haven't guessed by now, that is me quoting one of my favorite artist ever, John Legend. I love that man and I love the words he write, Chrissy Teigen you are one lucky lady!!

The reason I bring that up is because my handsome boyfriend has inspired this post. The other day I asked him to snap some pictures of my outfit before we headed off to work, and let me tell you... we are not morning people. 8:30 am is way too early... these pictures are proof of that! But then he brought up a good point... most bloggers share the best pictures, the picture perfect best type of pictures and he just asked me why not show my imperfect pictures? So I thought why not?

Today I'm sharing my top five perfect imperfections. We all have them and its always a love/hate type of relationship with them. And as they say, once you've accepted your flaws no one can use them against you or you can think like Beyonce every morning, "I woke up like this... flawless!" :) I hope this helps you guys get to know me a little better.

My Perfect Imperfections:
1) My hair! I have the finest, thinest hair ever. I'm sure a new born baby has more hair on their heads then I do! But I've grown to love it and appreciate that I have my hair. Gotta count your blessings.
2) My skinny legs... I've tried everything to gain some weight there and it is just nearly impossible! My friends call them chopsticks.... -_- But the plus side is that they look toned all the time!
3) I worry all the time. I take prepare for the worst, hope for the best to the extreme. But I am learning every day that worrying is normal, worrying all the time not so much. When I get a little stressed, I go on a run or take some breathers. I am getting better every day! :)
4) The size of my forehead/head period.  My brother in law likes to tell me my head size is extra large... I say its to hold the size of my large brain! :)
5) I'm independent, a little too much sometimes. I like to take care of myself and spoil myself and sometimes this irritates my boyfriend. He considers me stubborn and I agree. I just don't like feeling like I can't do it myself.

This last picture cracks me up, hopefully it brings you a chuckle too! I look crazy!

Casual Summer Time Love

I was asked to put together an outfit based off of one chosen piece this past week with Polyvore and all I have to say is, where the heck have I been? This website is amazing and I am so excited to use it more often in the future.

The chosen piece is this classic and gorgeous yellow dress off of Modcloth.com called BB Dakota Classic Stunner dress in Floral. The first time I saw it, I instantly thought of the Notebook - Rachel McAdams falling in love with Ryan Gosling, endless love and a hopeless romantics dream.

To modernise it a bit, I added the pop of blue and kept it casual with some flats. This is the perfect summer date night attire. Perfect outfit to fall in love. Check out ModCloth for more amazing pieces! Xo

A Ray of Sunshine

It is so tempting to just stay in bed and watch Netflix all day, especially when the weather feels like its below freezing! I just started "Sons of Anarchy" and all I have to say is that I am glad I waited to watch it! It's so addicting that I don't think I could have waited a week for the next episode. I guess you can say that's the impatient side of me.

My boyfriend, who is from the Midwest even claims its cold, so I promise I am not just being a pansy. It is the coldest WA has been in 15 years! Where is the snow?! That is all I'm waiting for.

Lately I've been living in oversize sweaters and cardigans, scarves, thick socks and boots. That pretty much sums up my wardrobe, unless it's a holiday party I refuse to wear anything but. :)

What are you winter essentials?

Thanks for stopping by dolls! :) Bundle up and stay warm for everyone experiencing cold weather. For everyone enjoying sunshine, just please know I am so jealous!

Welcoming Fall

Happy Fall dolls -- here comes the layering, scarves and boots! Can't say I'm excited about the cold, but I am excited for fall fashion.

It's been getting really chilly here in WA and it's only October. At this rate, I hope we have a white Christmas! Here is what I wore yesterday.

One of my favorite things about fall are the changing colors of the leaves! I love the reds, oranges, greens and yellow that all blend together and then scatter all over the road. It's definitely giving me some inspiration for future outfits.

Have a wonderful day dolls! Thanks for stopping by!

All that glitters is gold..

Sequin Saturday! I've had this dress in my closet since my birthday and have finally found an occasion to wear it! I love charity events, whether its music based or food based, a charity event is a wonderful excuse to have a good time and support a great cause! Today, my sister and I volunteered at her hospital's annual gala event to help raise money for their NICU department. It was a black tie event with the theme of "Essence of the Sea," colors were teal and coral. It was definitely a Saturday well spent.

The guests were impeccably dressed, men in suits and ladies dressed to impressed and the best part about it is that we raised so much money! (Final count coming soon) I'm use to people bidding based on $10 dollar increments but here, it was amazing how generous people were. For example, 8 suite seats to the Kenny Chesney concert this summer sold for $20,000! Wow! We greeted people, checked them in, and made sure they were enjoying themselves. I have to say the auction part was my favorite. The MC's were fantastic! They had the crowd involved and laughing the entire time. Now, 6 hours later I'm finally home and comfortable.

My dress is from Dorothy Perkins website and lately, I've been infatuated with old Hollywood glam hair and make up so that's what I tried to recreate today. :) Added some black stockings to keep it appropriate and my Kardashian heels from Sears (alot of standing was involved so I finally switched into flats).

Awaken with sunshine! Easter Sunday

Happy Easter my loves! As soon as the clock struck midnight, I was throwing myself a little party -- I had survived Lent! If you follow me on twitter you probably already know that for Lent this year, I decided to give up all meat including seafood (anything with a face pretty much) and facebook. Facebook wasn't hard at all, it was the craving to eat meat that was a little torturous. But I am beyond proud of myself for doing it! :) Let the meat party begin!!! Hamburgers, steak, wings, chicken, shrimp, crayfish, you name it.... I am ready!

The sun was shining through bright today, I even woke up to it in my face so that was a great start. :) Went to church with the family, saw some old friends and now we are going to feast on everything in sight. I fell in love with this yellow maxi for I'm Haute when I saw the owner wear it on her instagram. If you haven't checked out that website yet, I suggest you do. You will not be disappointed! Although it was warm, it wasn't warm enough to wear without a jacket. So I paired it with this cute military style blue jacket, thrifted from my best friend's closet.

I hope you guys have a wonderful Easter, from my family to yours. :) xoxo [missing my older sister & her husband]

A Splash of Tribal

Hello my dolls! It's been a while. I took a hiatus and went to spend some much needed relaxation time with my girlfriends in California! I will definitely do a recap of that this week. We crammed in as much sightseeing things as we could, including Disneyland, Griffith Observatory, Little Saigon and more! If you're following me on instagram,  you already know this. :) We were so busy I didn't get a chance to take pictures for my blog, but I will definitely recreate them all soon.

This was an outfit I took before I hopped on the plane to CA. My mindset was set on summer, and shorts, dresses, sandals and all things in between. I can't wait to see what fashion trends the sun will bring out! xoxo
